Administrative Units

Denton fell within the Hundred of Shamwell. Its 19th century Registration District & Poor Law Union was North Aylesford.
Probate Jurisdiction was Rochester to 1845, PCC 1846-57.

The medieval church was ruined early, but rescued and much rebuilt in 1901 as St Mary's Roman Catholic chapel. No parish registers.

It was united to Gravesend in 1935.
