Dartford Talk: Regimental Succession of Titles Resources with David Simons
David will trace the evolution, mergers and renaming of units from seventeenth century named regiments to numbered line infantry and finally to territorial and county titles, reflecting centuries of reconstruction, helping you to track your ancestor's army history and service.
David developed an interest in military history in his teens which led him to War Studies at King's College, London. He is currently working with the Army Museum's Ogilby Trust to develop a series of regimental succession titles resources.
He has volunteered with the Rifles (Berks & Wilts) Museum and the Royal Artillery Museum and remains a member of the Army Flying Museum's Development Committee. He has his own heritage sector consultancy.
Doors open 9.45am. The meeting / talk will start at 10.30am and end by 12.30pm.
The Talk venue has a large, free car park but it is shared with other users and can be busy at times.
No booking, just turn up.
