Sevenoaks Branch Talk: Bob Ogley on the Great Storm of the night of 15/16 October 1987
Bob is a well-known character to most of us. He was born in Sevenoaks so he is a Kentish Man. He attended Sevenoaks School, worked as a journalist and then became Editor of the Sevenoaks Chronicle. He held this post for 20 years.
He is the author of In the Wake of the Hurricane which sold 240,000 copies! It remained in the Best Seller list for eight months. He has written a further twenty books, the proceeds from which have raised over £150,000 for Charity. Bob also used to have a weekly spot on BBC Radio Kent.
Doors open 10.45am, meeting starts 11am.
There is a large public car park (payment required, 50p for 2 hours, £1 for 3 hours) adjacent to the hall but it can be busy.
No booking, just turn up.
The Society is a registered charity and membership fees and donations are an important part of our income. The Talk is free to members but guests and visitors are asked to make a donation towards hall hire and speaker's fee. There will be a donations box at the venue.
