Variations on family expressions

In a discussion today we were talking about expressions used in the family that were variations on the normal public and familiar versions.

Try out these three variations.

A problem shared is a problem doubled.

Give a man enough rope and he will hang you.

I'm not paranoid. I'm mononoid, there's only one person to distrust but nobody will tell me who it is.
