Sevenoaks Talk: The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood with Delia Taylor
Doors open 10.45am, meeting starts 11am.
This talk is a feast for the eyes. We look at the formation of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and at the paintings that made them famous. The brotherhood led to the Arts and Craft Movement in which William Morris, a great friend of the members, embraced their art through textiles and wallpaper. Eventually it became so popular that it was copied by architects, jewellers, interior and fashion designers and evolved into the style known as Art Nouveau.
Delia Taylor has been a public speaker for over 15 years and has auditioned and been approved by both the West Kent and East Sussex Federations of the WI.
She has spoken to a wide range of organisations including those below, as well as at AGMs and private lunches
No booking, just turn up.
The Society is a registered charity and membership fees and donations are an important part of our income. The Talk is free to members but guests and visitors are asked to make a donation towards hall hire and speaker's fee. There will be a donations box at the venue.
