Zoom DNA Discussion Group with Laura Lincoln

We aim to help you learn about the wonders of DNA and to get the most from your DNA test.

The topic for each meeting is agreed by the members by notifying the leader through workshop.booking@nwkfhs.org.uk. 

Today, we will discuss any aspect of DNA that is relevant to you.  I also hope to show how you can produce a circular genealogy chart on excel, using coloured highlights for the ancestors that are known to have passed their DNA to both you and your DNA Matches. This is a great visual aid to understanding how DNA can confirm traditional research. The chart is of course suitable to display your traditional research, aside from the DNA aspect.

I also hope to discuss using the Ancestry coloured dots for simple filtering of DNA Matches - how to set up the dots and just as importantly how to delete them. Filtering matches is very much a “trial and error” procedure so you need to be able to undo so you can have another go at it.
