1851 Census finding aid.
1851 Census is most important, as it was the first census to give the birth place of one's ancestors.
NWKFHS created surname indexes in the 1980s and 1990s when there were no commercial subscription online data providers.
While these indexes do not include all the schedule data, they are a finding aid using the piece number with folio number of the entry you seek.
The introductory notes written by the Census team in the 1990s are a fantastic piece of information and they alone are well worth the read.
See
https://www.nwkfhs.org.uk/resources/data-sets/1851-census-index for the registration districts of
Bromley, Dartford, Deptford, Greenwich, Lewisham, Sevenoaks and Woolwich.
We also have the sub districts North Fleet of Aylesford and Wrotham of Malling which will be soon put on the web site.
