DNA Discussion Group 17th May 2023
This session in addition to the normal for those wanting to discuss particular aspects of DNA research Laura will be showing how you can group your DNA Matches to represent your four grandparent lines. This may help you target which of your DNA Matches might help you understand a particular branch of your tree.
Maybe this could provide a clue to an ancestor's unknown parentage, say in either illegitimacy or adoption? Or quite simply could it help you take comfort that your traditional research is sound and you have identified an ancestor correctly?
The topic for each meeting is agreed by the members by notifying the leader through workshop.booking@nwkfhs.org.uk. The topics can range from basic information to methods to how to link your matches to your family tree.
The autosomal test (e.g. by Ancestry or FamilyTreeDNA' s Family Finder) is explored but both YDNA (paternal line) and MtDNA (maternal line) can also be discussed.
Log in from 10.15 am and enjoy chat amongst participants before the workshop starts, share knowledge and engage with other members.
Please reserve a place with workshop.booking@nwkfhs.org.uk including the event, title and date together with your name and membership number.
