Scottish Interest Group Discussion
The Society has a Scottish Interest Group (SIG) that discusses aspects of researching their ancestors that were born, lived married or died in Scotland.
At the last Zoom meeting on the 12th January, we discussed the highland clearances and the families that were affected by them. This raised a question about the timeline for this period of those forced migrations. A member has drawn up a timeline for this period that is available from the workshop booking coordinator (email: workshop.booking@nwkfhs.org.uk). Another member has drawn up a list of useful sources and online links that will be available soon.
The next SIG discussion topics will include 'migration' and 'Scottish legal terms found in documents Family Historians use'.
If you have Scottish ancestors and want to join the zoom meetings contact the workshop coordinator.
